Revolutionary History
50 Years of the Carnation Revolution:
Fifty years ago, the political upsurge of workers and youth In Portugal following the military coup of 25 April put an end to fascism and colonialism and sparked a social revolution. Despite the enormous political, economic and social achievements, in the absence of a revolutionary party with mass influence, the revolution was interrupted.

Indian Election: Fight for Democratic Rights — No Faith in BJP or India Alliance
Thirty years ago, an event of unprecedented and historic horror took place in East Africa: the genocide of Tutsis and the massacre of moderate Hutus. Barbarity on an industrial scale caused the death of 800,000 to 1,000,000 people in 3 short months. The anniversary is an opportunity to review the causes and consequences of this massacre from the pre-colonization period to the current situation.

Ecological Crisis
  • For a Socialist Green New Deal - for massive public investment plan: in renewable energy, in high quality, efficient and free public transport, in eco-friendly construction and housing for all, in recycling and repairing facilities.
  • For everyone’s right to a good job and a life free of poverty, oppression, devastation and destruction.
  • Stop the 100 main polluters: Take the big energy industries as well as all major banks, industries, building, transport and agro-business from the hands of the capitalists into public ownership. Place them under democratic control and management by the working class and the society as a whole.
  • For a sustainable and democratically planned economy, to address the needs and well-being of all.
  • Fight capitalism to replace it with a society based on needs, not profits – a democratic socialist society.
Socialist Feminism
  • Fight to end gender discrimination and oppression. End sexism, gender-based violence and victim-blaming.
  • Separate religion and state. For women's right to choose. Guarantee full safe abortion access in all countries. Programme of secular & progressive sex education in all schools.
  • End the pay gap. Equal decent pay for equal work! Oppose all cuts in social services. For a massive state investment in job creation, welfare, public housing and refuges, health, education, community services and childcare.
  • A struggle of all working people and the oppressed against the capitalist system, that has inequality and poverty at its heart.
  • For public ownership of wealth and resources in all countries, and a democratically planned economy and a socialist transformation of society.
Socialist Theory

The essence of Marxism consists in this, that it approaches society concretely, as a subject for objective research, and analyzes human history as one would a colossal laboratory record. Marxism appraises ideology as a subordinate integral element of the material social structure. Marxism examines the class structure of society as a historically conditioned form of the development of the productive forces; Marxism deduces from the productive forces of society the inter-relations between human society and surrounding nature, and these, in turn are determined at each historical stage by man’s technology, his instruments and weapons, his capacities and methods for struggle with nature. Precisely this objective approach arms Marxism with the insuperable power of historical foresight.
